Drawing can represent a process as much as an object, be rigorous without achieving naturalism, and be accomplished as much through the removal as the addition of marks. Ignoring composition and balance, this workshop aims instead to explore the richness of gestural mark-making.

The workshop will be divided into four modules drawn directly from Katie’s artistic practice—withdrawing, gesturing, distilling, translating. Please come prepared to take some risks, work collaboratively, and most importantly, revel in this dynamic medium.
